Community Impact

Serving the people of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan with the love and compassion of Christ.

Who We Serve

Prince Albert sits at the heart of northern Saskatchewan — a city of approximately 40,000 people where the stories of First Nations and Métis communities, recent immigrants, long-standing farming families, and urban newcomers converge daily. It is a city of deep resilience and equally deep need.

Our congregation is called to serve this whole community without distinction. We walk alongside Indigenous families navigating intergenerational trauma and celebrating cultural heritage. We welcome newcomers to Canada who arrive seeking safety, stability, and belonging. We support low-income families struggling with food insecurity and housing costs. We visit the elderly and homebound who lack regular social connection. And we invest deeply in children and youth who need both spiritual roots and practical opportunity.

We do not serve from a position of charity looking down, but as neighbours standing alongside — learning from those we serve as much as we offer.

Outreach Initiatives

Three core programs through which we extend practical love to our neighbours throughout the year.

Volunteers at the community food drive sorting donated groceries
Food Security

Quarterly Food Drive & Hamper Program

Four times per year, our congregation collects non-perishable food items and assembles family hampers for distribution to households across Prince Albert. In partnership with local food banks and school counsellors, we identify families facing acute food insecurity and ensure hampers reach those who need them most. Last year our congregation assembled and delivered over 180 hampers serving more than 400 individuals.

Clothing & Essentials

Seasonal Clothing Collection

Saskatchewan winters are severe, and not every family has access to adequate cold-weather clothing. Each fall we organize a clothing drive — collecting gently used winter coats, boots, hats, and mittens for redistribution to children and adults in need. We partner with elementary schools and transitional housing services to ensure clothing reaches those who need it most before the first deep freeze arrives.

Newcomer Support

Newcomer Welcome Program

Prince Albert receives a steady flow of newcomers to Canada each year — refugees, landed immigrants, and international workers who arrive in an unfamiliar city with limited social networks. Our Newcomer Welcome Program connects these individuals and families with congregation volunteers who assist with settlement tasks: understanding services, finding housing resources, practising English conversation, and simply building the friendships that make a new city feel like home.

Voices from the Community

A few words from community members whose lives have been touched by our congregation.

“When my family arrived in Prince Albert two years ago from overseas, we knew nobody and felt completely overwhelmed. The people from this church came alongside us, helped us navigate the school registration process, and invited us to their homes for meals. For the first time in a new country, we felt like we had genuine friends. I will never forget that kindness.”

— Amara T., Prince Albert newcomer

“I grew up in a difficult home situation, and by the time I was a teenager I was heading in a very bad direction. The youth program here gave me a community that actually cared about me — mentors who showed me what integrity looks like, and a faith that gave me something worth living for. I’m now in college studying social work. This church changed the trajectory of my life.”

— Marcus D., former youth program participant

“After my husband passed away, I felt completely alone. I had stopped attending church years before, but a neighbour told me about the seniors’ visiting program here. A volunteer began calling me every week, and eventually I started coming to Sunday service. The warmth and acceptance I found here at 72 years old healed something in me that had been broken for a long time.”
